Waterfall of Narcissus
Ube Biennale, Japan, 2007
With sculpture the original material evokes a sense of weight and gravity, which expresses a sense of reality. This characteristic is the unique power of sculpture. With painting two-dimensionality is a given, yet we are able to share the illusion of time and space. With this work I am trying to merge these characteristics, by using real materials in the real world, yet having the power of illusion that painting holds.
